Foster-Based German Shepherd Rescue · Georgia & the Southeast

They Give Their
Whole Heart.

All they ask for is someone to give it to.

German Shepherds are among the most loyal companions you'll ever know. When they're abandoned or left behind, they don't stop loving — they simply wait for someone to help them feel safe again.

Help us change that.

Trooper's Story

Trooper entered the world with the odds stacked against him. Born with a severely disfigured leg, he was considered unwanted by the breeder who saw him as a dog with little value.

Southern Cross saw something different.

Today, thanks to a foster home that gave him the unwavering love he needed, he's a happy, thriving member of the family that refused to give up on him.

"Because every German Shepherd deserves someone who sees possibility instead of obstacles."

Our Mission

More Than Rescue

Southern Cross German Shepherd Rescue is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming German Shepherds throughout Georgia and the Southeast through foster-based care.

For generations these dogs have served as protectors, service animals, and beloved companions. Too many now find themselves abandoned or misunderstood — so we move them from uncertainty to safety, from shelter to foster, and from foster to forever.

Why Fostering Matters

Every foster home saves more than one life.

German Shepherds are among the breeds that struggle most in a shelter environment — deeply loyal dogs who become frightened and withdrawn when suddenly alone in a noisy kennel. A foster home lets them decompress, feel safe, and show us who they really are.

You don't have to adopt to save a life. Whether for two weeks or two months, fostering makes you the bridge between uncertainty and a forever home.
