Our Story
A Mission Sustained by Stewardship
Southern Cross German Shepherd Rescue was founded by Molly Moncure, whose deep respect for the intelligence, loyalty, and working heritage of the German Shepherd inspired a rescue dedicated to giving these remarkable dogs the second chances they deserve.
When Molly became seriously ill and the future of the rescue was uncertain, longtime volunteer Adrienne Donahue stepped forward to ensure the mission would continue. What began as an act of service became a lifelong commitment to preserving a rescue that so many dogs had come to depend on.
Adrienne was never alone in that commitment. From the earliest days, dedicated team members Janice, Dana, and Laura — along with the unwavering support of countless foster families, volunteers, adopters, donors, veterinarians, and transporters — helped Southern Cross grow into one of Georgia's most respected breed-specific rescues.
Today, Southern Cross proudly honors Molly Moncure for the vision that began this journey, and Adrienne Donahue for the extraordinary stewardship that ensured it would endure.
