Every gift to Southern Cross supports one of two funds — each serving a distinct, essential part of what makes rescue possible. Choose the one that speaks to you, or support both.
Fund 01
The Shepherd's Circle
Emergencies don't wait for a fundraiser. The Shepherd's Circle is our monthly giving community — donors whose recurring gifts provide the dependable, predictable support that lets us say "yes" the moment a German Shepherd needs us most.
A steady monthly gift, even a small one, does something a one-time gift can't: it lets us plan ahead instead of reacting one crisis at a time. $25/mo covers a recovering dog's food and basic care for a full month.
Fund 02
Tommy's Promise
Tommy arrived at Southern Cross emaciated, heartworm positive, and suffering from severe elbow dysplasia. It took ten months of treatment before he was healthy enough to be adopted — but by then, foster mom Laura knew he wasn't leaving. For nearly twelve years, he became her partner in rescue, teaching frightened dogs and puppies alike that they were finally safe.
This fund carries his work forward — covering medical care, behavioral rehabilitation, and extended foster support for German Shepherds whose needs exceed what standard rescue funding can cover. Some dogs need surgery. Some need months, not weeks, to learn to trust again. Tommy was one of those dogs. Because of him, others will get the same chance.
100% of this fund goes directly to the dogs. Southern Cross currently pays no staff salaries — every hour given by our team is volunteered. Paid staff is a long-term goal as we grow, but today, your gift funds dogs, not overhead.
